Mohave County Arizona is located in the North Western portion of the state of Arizona. Its population is just over two hundred thousand with the county seat being Kindman. The area boasts many natural resources and wonders. The county contains portions of Lake Mead, Lake Mojave, Lake Havasu and a little hole in the ground known as the Grand Canyon.

Mohave County offers open landscapes and trails to explore a variety of historic and natural wonders. Remote 4×4 trails offer lake and river access in the harsh hot summers. Boats may be rented out in Willow Beach and a lazy ride up the Colorado River allows a special view of Hoover Damn from below. Side canyons offer great hiking opportunities and some are known to contain hot springs.

Grand Canyon West is a viewpoint run by the Hualapai Tribe which features the world famous Skywalk, a glass walk way out over the Grand Canyon. The Skywalk is featured about 1,160 feet about the Colorado River and about 700 feet above the canyon floor. Should you choose to visit to Grand Canyon West, do yourself a favor and get a smoothie from the gift shop. Their Mango Smoothie is a wonderful treat on a hot day.

Ghost towns such as Chloride and Oatman allow one to explore the old west. Lake Havasu in the southern portion of the county is a popular retirement location and offer many spring breakers a great place to vacation in the sun.

This area is known for long hot dry summers. Extreme heat is common place, so visitors to this area must plane ahead for any back country excursions.
